Last night I had a dream that I was in Japan exploring an abandoned schoolhouse. All the colors were yellow-y and saturated just like your photos. As soon as I entered the gym, water started flooding in until the whole school was a giant aquarium. You and Vicky were in there, I don't remember which room.. but there was play-doh involved. Crazy to have dreams about people you don't even know. Even more strange is every now and then throughout my day I will see something that reminds me of you or Andre De Freitas or Chris Villacillo and I will reach for my phone to text one of you about it. Only to remember that I have never actually met any of you. There's something to be said though, to have work that represents yourself so well that people think they really know you.

Woah, that’s a crazy awesome dream! Did you happen to read my recent post about the dream I had while in Japan where my train filled up with water and goldfish? Part of me hopes that you didn’t, as that would be an amazing coincidence. On the other hand, part of me hopes you did read it, as that would mean at least one person actually reads the stupid stuff I write about all of my pictures!

Regardless, I can’t wait to tell Vicki that someone on Tumblr had a dream about her that involved play-doh! Haha!

Also, thanks so much for putting me in the same sentence with mega-talents Andre and Chris, you are way too kind. I’m not worthy, I’m not worthy!

That being said, I totally know what you’re saying about feeling like you know folks on tumblr. Sometimes I wish that there was a Tumblr College where I’d get to live in a freshman dorm with all my favorite Tumblr friends. In that scenario I’d definitely be the guy trying to get everyone to sign up for intramural wiffle ball!

Finally, if anyone reading this is not yet following Laruen, I suggest you do so right now! She slays the black & white and eats composition for breakfast!

COOL STUFF IN JAPAN 23 - “BRIDGE TO TERIYAKIBITHIA”
At one point during our Japan adventure we took a five hour train ride from Kochi to Kyoto. As the train chugged along we passed through several breathtaking wintery landscapes, yet I only took two pictures due to the wretched motion sickness that has cursed me since birth (thanks mom). Anyway, as soon as I took this picture I felt like I was for sure going to vomit, so I dropped my head down between my knees and prayed for mercy.
At some point I passed out and had the following dream nightmare…
We were driving past this bridge in slow motion and I asked Vicki’s dad to translate the sign. He told me that it read “Chicken Teriyaki is on the other side of this bridge”. I screamed for the train to stop but it just kept chugging along as I watched my one chance at Chicken Teriyaki slowly fade away. Once I could no longer see the bridge I looked down and goldfish started floating out of my backpack and I wondered how they were breathing. I then realized that the train was full of water and thus wondered how I was breathing. I suddenly began gasping for air and woke up.
Anyway, that dream bothered me the rest of my trip. While the drowning aspect was indeed terrifying, it was missing out on the Chicken Teriyaki that truly haunted the depths of my soul.

PEOPLE OF JAPAN 14 - “LONELY PEOPLE”
When I look at this photo I like to think that the man and woman accidentally bump into one another upon leaving their tables. During the heated argument that ensues they suddenly make eye contact and fall in love. The next day they quit their jobs and get married. Together the go on to have a successful etsy shop where the sell bubble wrap wrapped in breakable glass.
Note to self: Wrap bubble wrap in glass, send to MOMA, become famous artist, make lots of money, have a dance party in my pile of money, eat some pizza, use my money to start an aquarium shop with my dad in Maryland, eat pizza with my dad on our lunch break, buy Vicki a house and a puppy, live a happy life with Vicki.
